Eagle Creek is a small, private, gated community centrally located midway between Naples & Marco Island, on 300 wooded acres of cypress, pine and palm trees. It has repeatedly won local and national awards for the beauty and maintenance of its grounds and common areas. Founded in 1984, Eagle Creek is 100 percent built-out with 458 residential units, including single family homes, villas and condominiums. The community’s small size makes it truly unique in the Naples area, where residential golf course communities are regularly sized between 750 and 5,000 residences. Because of its intimate size, Eagle Creek residents enjoy ready access to all facilities with no waiting and the ultimate in attention and service from long-tenured and dedicated staff. Eagle Creek truly feels like a neighborhood, and the membership is close-knit and friendly.
The golf course was designed by noted golf architect Larry Packard and includes four sets of tees ranging in length from 6,909 to 5,413 yards. This course has been included in the top-50 Florida golf courses by several rating organizations. Eagle Creek is a member-owned equity club.
History of Eagle Creek
In 1982, the project not fully completed, a Chicago based group consisting of Vincent Solano, Jim Hannigan and several investors, purchased the development. They brought in the Packard Design group, specifically Larry Packard, to put his finishing touches to the golf course.
In May of 1982, they lured Ken Venturi from Deltona and Marco Island Country Club to bring his expertise to the design of the course. He refined and enhanced the original course design cutting it through deep pine and cypress forests so that it has the look of being here naturally.
The project name was then changed to Eagle Creek Golf and Tennis Club. The first major condominium project slated for completion was called “Arboresque,” and consisted of Victorian-style architecture. In May 1984, a company called Maxxam purchased the complex, and renamed it Eagle Creek Country Club.
They created a new company, Eagle Creek Properties, a name still in place today, to handle the development of the property, and reduced the number of anticipated dwellings to less than 400. In 1985 the opening of the beautifully adorned Clubhouse occurred, and from that point on the project really took off.
In November 1987, a group of Swiss investors purchased Eagle Creek Country Club from Maxxam, and ultimately, on October 1, 1996, the membership bought the facilities of the Club from the developer, and created a private, member-owned, equity Club.
Among the most striking amenities at Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club is its beautiful Clubhouse, designed to blend with its natural surroundings, offering a casual but elegant appeal. The Clubhouse overlooks a cypress preserve, lake, practice putting green, the first tee and ninth green of the golf course.
In 2007 a total Clubhouse renovation, Cart Barn renovation and construction of a new Tern facility were completed. As the center for the Club’s activities, the Clubhouse has updated men’s and ladies’ locker room facilities, a conference room, card rooms, and offices for the Club’s administrative team.
The 2007 renovation of the Clubhouse begins with a warm and welcoming lobby, cozy fireplace seating area and several gathering areas as well as distinctive formal and casual dining areas.
Members utilize the dining areas which have been designed to accommodate their individual needs and tastes. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere add to the dining experience. Each of the Club’s dining area’s offer floor to ceiling windows providing beautiful views from each room.
